Let’s be honest, a LOT of energy and creativity goes into planning a wedding! There’s no arguing that! But take care not to overlook the opportunity to lavish your favorite couple in love on their wedding eve. The rehearsal dinner is a fabulous event in so many ways. The anticipation! The reality! And, of course, reconnecting with friends and family who have gathered to support the lovely couple as they launch this new life together.
The rehearsal dinner is traditionally the groom’s family’s responsibility, although (as with so many of the strong traditions around wedding planning and, ahem, funding) the rules are shifting to be more flexible. Whatever the case is for the big day you’re planning for, embrace the magic of the night before to create an atmosphere of eager anticipation and celebration!
This fall, outside of Nashville, Niles and Kristina celebrated their union in a breathtaking ceremony. The night before, they gathered with the wedding party, the bride and groom’s family and out-of-town guests for a casual, Music City themed rehearsal dinner. Now, for those of you not from around Nashville, that totally doesn’t mean cowboy boots or too much twang. What it does mean is barbeque, cold beer and a laid back good time.
Of course, a party’s not a party without adorable custom designed party supplies. For the rehearsal dinner, Niles’ mom (with the help of his big sis, and FYP writer, Cadle) created the perfect personalized touches! Custom cups, personalized napkins, matchbooks, balloons and straw tags all combined for a cohesive, but not too fussy, look.
Since barbeque can get pretty messy, custom guest towels were designed so all of the dinner guests had plenty of face-wiping real estate to work with. “Almost Married” foil stamped in matte merlot on dove grey guest towels, celebrated how, at long last, they were nearly there! For their custom cups, a classic single initial monogram design worked perfectly for rehearsal dinner drinks, and since our frost flex cups are reusable, any leftovers went to stocking Niles and Kristina’s bar cart at home.
Always a crowd favorite, personalized matches were offered as a token rehearsal dinner party favor. With “Woo Hoo! Niles and Kristina’s Wedding Eve!” foil stamped in black on silver matchbooks, the look was both classic and a little bit tongue in cheek. We are 100% behind the “wedding eve” concept, by the way. Totally cute! For a few small details, “WooHoo” balloons were added that coordinated with the custom matches, and black and white paper straws with heart-shaped straw tags finished off the look! The straw tags featured the couple’s wedding hashtag -- genius.
Personalizing the party accessories for a rehearsal dinner isn’t too time-consuming or too pricey since generally, a rehearsal dinner is a smaller crowd than the wedding. Custom designed items create such a fun atmosphere and make for such fun mementos. So, if you have a rehearsal dinner on your planning roster, get started dreaming and designing now!
