When Brie Doffing married her prince charming, Matthew, they took “storybook wedding” to the next level! Their destination wedding was a vacation of a lifetime for their family and friends, and the details of their gorgeous wedding day were perfectly appointed. Definitely fairytale level. Which totally makes sense, after reading Brie and Matthew's love story and proposal story!
The wedding week was spent at Villa Caratti on Isola Del Garda, a villa that housed 16 of their nearest and dearests, with gardens for wandering and breathtaking views to take in at every turn.
Brie and Matthew’s wedding day had so many memorable and personalized moments, from the bride’s epic boat ride to the wedding with her father, to the farm to table meal at the reception, to the traditional Millefoglie wedding cake. The day (or should we say week) was drenched in meaning. With carefully chosen custom wedding décor, wedding favors and personalized wedding accessories (including FYP’s sparkler sleeves and custom cocktail napkins), the wedding was a simple affair in a fabulously grand setting. Brie and Matthew were married by her best friend, which offered a deeply personal element to their intimate destination wedding.
Brie’s wedding dress was a one-of-a-kind design made for her by a friend and couture designer in Singapore, where the couple currently lives. Designed specifically to be perfect for the wedding day, but also be worn again, Brie’s dress was nothing short of stunning. And now the bodice, which was made as a leotard, now makes appearances on the couple's date nights! We love her idea of creating a dreamy gown that could also be repurposed after the aisle.
More than anything, Brie and Matthew’s destination Italian wedding was a reflection of who they are individually and as a couple. Matthew’s interest in health as a personal trainer was highlighted by the farm to table meal, and the couple’s interest in supporting family owned businesses was a key component in their decisions of who they chose as vendors for their wedding. The choices they made as they planned the wedding created an experience that reflected their deep convictions about food and labor, while also being an utterly breathtaking and luxurious destination wedding. As Brie says, “our love story was one that is made of pure magic and destiny” and their wedding day certainly continued their storybook narrative!
"My advice to any bride is to take deep breaths, be present. The day was the best day of our lives but there were so many hiccups throughout the day but I was clueless to them all as my bridal party came to rescue! My other advice is: have someone close to you officiate your wedding. I had my best friend marry us and his words with our vows were truly magnificent and raw."
