The 2019 fall wedding trends forecast is looking fabulous, friends! New interpretations of classic wedding themes and settings, and a full embrace of luxurious textiles like velvet are resulting in a fresh modern take on autumn nuptials. So many gorgeous fall wedding ideas, so little time!
Velvet Everywhere
We’ve seen it popping up here and there, but this fall velvet is a major player. From dresses (obvi) to tablecloths, bouquet ribbon to draped décor on chairs and focal points, velvet is showing up in moody, dramatic fall wedding colors. Structured and formal or more casual with crushed velvet, it’s all here this fall wedding season.
New Elements at Rustic Weddings
The rustic outdoor wedding is a timeless wedding trend by now, but we are seeing new elements incorporated this season. Real, in season, fruit is being used for both décor and dining, and leather and glassware are being used for an upscale, less farm-y take on a rustic autumn wedding.
Dark, Moody Vibes
We’ve seen moody wedding color palette trends for a couple of seasons now, but this fall it’s moodier and more dramatic than ever. Plus, pairing this trend with the velvet trend creates an exponential result! Personalized wedding accessories like custom wedding napkins are a great way to extend a moody color palette to the wedding bar and reception décor.
Cosmic Inspired Geode
Of course, celestial and cosmic inspired design is still trending, and the moody colors that this fall’s color palette is beckoning for work perfectly with a starry theme! A natural element that we are seeing combined with cosmic weddings is the use of geodes for décor, and even in wedding cakes! Gorgeous, on trend AND yummy? Yes, please!
Colorful Suits and Romantic Dresses
This season, grooms are choosing suits and tuxedos that are anything but ordinary. Jewel tone jackets and cadmium orange or peacock blue suits are a fab way to drench your wedding in the vibrant colors of this fall’s trends. Fall wedding dresses are elaborate, whimsical, lacy, vintage, and anything but simple. Expect to see lots of interesting sleeve detailing and gorgeous trains.
Elaborate, Maximalist Invitation Spreads
One element of wedding planning where couples are definitely not cutting corners this season is with wedding invitations! Unique, curated invitations, nestled in absolutely fabulous lined envelopes are everywhere! Many couples are including wedding schedules, snail mail RSVPs and photos in their wedding invitations, taking seriously the fact that their invitations give invited guests a preview of what to expect at the wedding!
